Our Gift Of Hearing Division Will Try To Assist
For those with serious hearing loss and no financial means, our Gift of Hearing division will try to assist. Every year we give away a large number of reconditioned hearing aids to grateful recipients. We should probably make a song and dance about this, but we don’t. We feel it’s natural to want to help our fellow human beings in need. We would like to appeal to the public to donate any hearing aids not being used or lying in a drawer somewhere. Others less fortunate could benefit tremendously. (See SABC video clip on home page for world hearing day as an example.)
For select cases we motivate for brand new hearing aids from our strong partners in the industry. These usually go to younger recipients like students or those who literally could lose their work, or not be able to work, because of severe hearing loss.

September 2018: Shane Plumstead (25) from the small town of Rouxville in the Free State drove down specially to our PE branch to be fitted with his new set of Oticon mini RIC instruments. Once again a big thanks you to our partner Oticon SA for sponsoring the hearing aids for this worthy beneficiary. We did all the diagnostic work, fitting, as well as the motivation: youngsters especially have a great chance to be helped!
